Why Teach the Tabernacle of Moses?

As modern-day readers of the Bible‚ we tend to skim over the detailed and often tedious texts of the Old Testament and focus instead on the simpler sections of the New Testament. It is tempting to relegate the 50 chapters in the Books of Moses devoted to the tabernacle as irrelevant or boring. After all‚ how are all the intricate plans for a 15th century B.C. collapsible structure useful to us as 21st-century Christians?

Just like Jesus’ parables served to illustrate and bring His teachings to life‚ so the Old Testament visuals serve to illuminate many spiritual concepts in the New Testament.

By omitting the tabernacle in our teaching‚ we are actually neglecting a powerful and necessary tool that God had prepared for us to understand the work of Christ on the cross...

  2. Great Model 5 Star Review

I will be giving talk about the Tabernacle, and having a visual aid will help make it come alive. The kit has very good detail, and is quite accurate. Being a master modeler, I enhanced the model by adding dirt to the base, and painting all parts in bronze, gold, and silver to enhance the accuracy. The end result is a model that will make it easier to discuss each part of the Tabernacle, and what they mean. I recommend this kit to anyone looking for an accurate, easy to assemble rendering of this historic structure!

I have used these models for 8 years teaching high school students. They are well made and lend themselves to accuracy of the various parts and to artistic creativity for the students.

  5. I love this thing 5 Star Review

I've never painted nor assembled a model before, but I verily felt led by the Lord. I painted and assembled this in 10.5 hours straight, was up until 5 am. Why the focus? I am LDS and I teach Temple prep for my congregation. This model will prepare people like few other things for the modern LDS Temple ordinances. Very excited to use this.

We are studying the wilderness meeting place and this model great but we are a men'class and some of the pieces are very small and difficult to handle. The experience is going to be a challenge.

I'm not completely finished yet, but I have learned a lot while painting/decorating this model. I can only imagine what it must have been like assembling the real thing during Moses time. The model seems to come to life as I progress it's assembly. So far I am amazed the way it is turning out! Great teaching aid!

Highly recommended, and a tremendous teaching aid. Appreciated the downloadable pdf to help with the painting instructions, and it should be explained it will take some time to make the model look its best. All the same I would recommend this to anyone teaching the tabernacle.
